First Aid Courses

Welcome to First Aid Courses Australia. We operate classroom training in all capital cities with courses that cover the range of requirements in the field of first aid.

First Aid Training

Why do first aid training?. This training is a regulatory requirement for many Australian businesses that may need to have a First Aid Officer who has done the required first aid courses. Proper first aid knowledge and planning is an essential component of any workplace safety plan. If you have a medical emergency and don’t know what to do at that time, it’s way too late to start learning.

Businesses, whether they are required to have a First Aid Officer or not, may decide to have this skill within their staff ranks purely in order to offer employees a strong OH&S work place culture.

Individuals working within this field will want to continue their first aid training education through a range of available courses.

First Aid Certificate

First aid courses in Australia cover a broad spectrum of first aid skills and knowledge, as required by Workcover and other safety regulations. Although not all employees are required to complete first aid courses, most businesses, depending on the number of employees and the industry, may be required to provide first aid facilities (eg, first aid kits), a first aid room, a medical centre and, if the business is large enough, a trained first aid officer.

If your business is required to provide a trained first aid officer, that person will need to have the appropriate First Aid Certificate. The first aid courses that need to be considered include:

Applying first aid
Applying advanced first aid
Applying advanced resuscitation techniques
Managing first aid in the workplace / Occupational first aid
Basic emergency life support / Emergency first aid
Performing CPR
Providing first aid in a remote situation
Anaphylaxis awareness
Industrial first aid

First Aid Training Pre-requisites

There are pre-requisites for courses that lead to a first aid certificate so you should create a training plan. For example, first aid training for beginners obviously needs to be completed before the advanced first aid course, and it is often recommended that anaphylaxis training is undertaken in conjunction with cpr courses and epi-pen training, and so on. On completion of these nationally accredited courses, successful students will be issued with a First Aid Certificate for each course. These will need to be renewed over time, but having the right first aid skills on hand in your workplace may be the best investment you ever make.
